Opening Day 2003

The awful weather of May 2003 gave a brief respite allowing our Opening Day ceremonies to proceed precipitation-free. Owing to the soggy ground, the ceremonies were conducted on the brand new pool deck. Following the introductions, flag raising, traditional music by Wantagh American Legion Pipe Band, our National Anthem by Megan Brooks, the clubhouse and JC openings, and boat parade to the Heading, a fine Jazz band featuring legendary Clarinetist Sol Yaged (among other accomplishments he trained Steve Allen to play Clarinet for the film The Benny Goodman Story) entertained at the Clubhouse.
